Jubilant FoodWorks Q1 PAT at Rs.153 mn

Jubilant FoodWorks Limited (JFL), a leading food service company and master franchisee of Domino’s Pizza International in India, has reported a 346.1 per cent growth in its profit after tax (PAT) – at Rs.153 million – for the first quarter ended June 30, 2010.

The company’s total income for the quarter was up 59.5 per cent at Rs.1,356 million.

During the quarter, Jubilant FoodWorks’ EBIDTA (earnings before interest, depreciation, taxes and amortisation) was up 108.3 per cent at Rs.251 million.

Commenting on the performance for Q1 FY’11, Ajay Kaul, CEO, Jubilant FoodWorks Limited, said, “Our first quarter revenues have witnessed healthy growth, underlining our plans to have a successful year ahead. During the quarter, we worked towards expanding our network, which, as of June 30, 2010, stood at 320 stores spread across the country. Along with our wide demographic coverage, we continue to heighten our focus on product development and marketing initiatives to retain existing customers as well attract new ones.”

Asserting that the company has been successful in executing its key initiatives, Kaul said, “We believe the future holds potential for growth, and JFL is well positioned to benefit from the opportunities in the sector.”

During the quarter, the company opened 14 new stores.
