Dish Hospitality Private Limited (DHPL), the foodservice arm of Wadhawan Group, has opened its second Cinnabon bakery in India at Mumbai. This 550 sq.ft outlet — located at the upmarket Pali naka in Bandra Cinnabon — will serve the chain’s iconic cinnamon rolls, made with pure vegetable margarine, cream cheese frosting and the legendary makara cinnamon from Indonesia. “The customisation is that all our offerings are eggless. This is the only Cinnabon outlet in the world to offer this option,” Navin Madan, brand manager, Cinnabon told IndiaRetailing.

Two more outlets – one in Juhu, Mumbai and another in Select CityWalk, Delhi — will open shortly and will entail an investment of Rs 1.5 crore each. “By March 2011 we plan to launch 10 outlets between Delhi and Mumbai and then take the brand to Pune, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad,” Madan adds.

DHPL has plans to open 150 take-away and quick servic Cinnabon outlets across India.

Founded in Seattle in 1985 and now based in Atlanta, Cinnabon Inc. is the market leader among cinnamon roll bakeries in the US. The company serves fresh, aromatic, oven-hot cinnamon rolls made with Makara Cinnamon, as well as a variety of other baked goods and speciality beverages. Cinnabon currently operates more than 650 franchised locations worldwide, primarily in high traffic venues such as shopping malls, airports, train stations and travel plazas.
