Nucleus mall, Kochi, to operate from June ’10

Kerala-based CRISIL-rated ABAD Builders is developing a mall located at Maradu in Kochi – Nucleus. It will be operational from June 2010.

In an exclusive interview with Indiaretailing, Prince Varghese, deputy general manager of ABAD Builders Pvt Ltd informs, "Nucleus Mall will be the first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold Rated mall in Kerala with an energy efficient green building. This suburban mall provides an excellent catchment area to more than five lakhs of population. We have food courts, family entertainment zone etc in the mall, so we offer a value shopping experience with fun and frolic to the people on Maradu."

The mall covers a total area of 2.30 lakhs sq.ft, out of which 1.25 lakh sq ft has been alloted to retail, 45,000 sq.ft to office arcade and 60,000 sq.ft has been alloted for service area. The total investment in this mall stands at approximately Rs.60 crores.

The retailers such as Max, Navigator, Baby Care etc have already booked the space in the Nucleus mall.

Varghese adds, "We have different modules like pure lease rental, revenue share and minimum guarantee etc for retailers. We have tied up with leasing companies like CBRE, JLL etc for mall leasing and we are creating awareness through advertisements in print and outdoor, e-mailer campaigns, web portal ads etc."
