    Future Group’s shopping fest to boost sales by 20-25 per cent

    is looking at increasing its sales by approximately 20 – 25 percent pan India during ‘The Great Indian Shopping Festival 2010’ beginning April 17. The event being organised at all the retail formats through May 16 is expected to register 30 million footfalls.

    “In the previous such shopping fest in December 2008, we had registered sales of Rs.700 crore and 25 million footfalls,” said S N Gangil, area manager, . He also mentioned that since the markets were on the upturn now, at least 20 per cent growth was expected this time round.

    The retail major has a total 16 million sq.ft spread across India in 73 cities and 65 rural areas. Future Group’s various formats include Big Bazaar, Food Bazaar, Pantaloons, Central, and eZone, besides , , Celio, Staples, Mother Earth among others.
