Booster Juice to take its store count to 40 by 2010-end

In an attempt to strengthen its foothold in the India, leading smoothie and juice bar chain ‘Jus’ Booster Juice plans to open five more outlets by March 2010. The Canadian brand entered India through its master franchisee Brand Calculus and currently has nine outlets across and further plans to have around 40 outlets pan-India by the end of 2010, according to a top official.

Speaking exclusively to IndiaRetailing, Anoop Sequeira, CEO, Brand Calculus reveals, “Booster juice is basically geared towards promoting fresh and nutritional smoothies in a vibrant environment that enthusiast consumer to enjoy the drink with a feel good factor. Furthermore, we plan to extend our offering pan-India by opening five more outlets in next 45 days. By the end of the year, we plan to have around 40 Booster Juice outlets across the country.”

Elaborating further on the company’s expansion plans Sequeira informed that, they are planning to open two outlets in Hyderabad and one store each in Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore. In Hyderabad, the company plans to open one of the outlets in GVK mall.

Moreover, Booster Juice also plans to extend to other metros including Mumbai in their second phase of expansion. Meanwhile, they plan to open their outlets in malls as they provide them with enhanced brand visibility, which is quite required by Booster Juice as an entirely new concept in India. Further, on they also have plans to open their outlets near gym, fitness clubs and other health centers to capture their health conscious target audience.

Commenting on the investments, Sequeria said, “We are extending through two kinds of model in India. They are kiosks which are around 250 square feet and standalone, which are sprawled over 750 square feet. In which total investment on each store falls around Rs 25 lacs to 40 lacs depending upon the model.”

Currently, the company’s nine Booster Juice outlets are present in cities including — one in Delhi and two in Chennai and the other six in Bengaluru.

Further, Sequeria also revealed that Brand Calculus is all set to bring one more International brand to India in next few months. Sequeria states, “ We plan to bring a frozen yoghurt international chain in India in next three to four months.”

When asked further details, Sequeria declined to comment on the details of the expansions and details of the brand.
