Carlton London to open 15 outlets by end of fiscal 2009-10

Carlton London, the UK based high fashion footwear brand plans to expand rapidly by opening new outlets and shop in shop formats by the end of March 2010. In an exclusive interview, Kamal Gupta, CEO, Carlton London, India informs, “We are planning to
open 15 new outlets by the end of March 2010. We will also open 30 new shop-in-shops within the same timeline.”

Elucidating on the business proposition, Gupta states, “While our competitors are Aldo, Charles& Keith, Nine West and Guess, the business focus of Carlton London is to be a leader in high-fashion ladies and men’s footwear.”

On the choice of locations for the new outlets, Gupta further states, “We are looking towards malls and high-street locations. We are primarily targetting Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bangalore, Cochin and Chennai.”

That said, Gupta also informed about their soon to be unveiled autumn/winter collection for the year 2009. “For the autumn/winter season, we are following the European high-street fashion trends,” he shares.

“We have used Leopard print leather in men’s shoes, while, the latest international trims have been used on ladies sandals and ballerinas. The brand is also coming up with good collection of party wear and casual handbags for women,” Gupta further informs.
