XSB to open 30 outlets in 2 yrs; eyes overseas expansion

Hyderabad-based SuryaRay Elixirs Pvt Ltd initiative Xtreme Sports Bar (XSB), a chain of sports bars led by Arjun Valluri and Dheeraj Keswani, plans to open around 30 outlets across the country in the next two years. Further, the company eyes overseas expansion as well in countries including Europe, Australia and the US during the same period.

Speaking to IndiaRetailing, Dheeraj Keswani, director, XSB, said, “We plan to open a total of 30 outlets across the country in the next two years. We have identified 10 locations in cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Chandigarh and Jaipur to open stores by the end of March 2010.” He further stated that the first mall outlet of XSB will be opened at Express Avenue Mall in Chennai, which is expected to come up in January 2010.

About the company’s investment plan, Keswani informed that XSB will invest around Rs 35 crore for the opening of 10 new stores and expects revenue of Rs 20 crore by the end of March 2010.

The company also plans to expand presence in the international markets. “We are planning to roll out XSB in Europe, Australia and the US by March 2011,” informed Keswani.

Currently, XSB is operational in six locations in India including Secunderabad, Banjara Hills and Madhapur in Hyderabad; Indranagar and Bannerghatta in Bengaluru and DLF Cybercity in Gurgaon.

Conceptualised as one stop destination for sports, food and drinks, Xtreme Sports Bar is designed with large screen plasma and LCD screens to offer live feed of popular sports like soccer, cricket, tennis and bike racing. It also offersdrinks and mouth watering cuisine from Indian, Chinese and Continental palate.
