The Bombay Store to open five new stores by March ’10

The Bombay Store has opened a new outlet at the Grand Galleria section in High Street Phoenix, Mumbai. Spread across 1,500 square feet retail space, the newly launched store is the 11th store of the chain in India, informed a top company official.

Speaking to IndiaRetailing, Asim Dalal, MD, The Bombay Store, said, “We plan to increase our presence in major cities in India; and as part of the plan, we will open five new stores, two each in Bengaluru and Hyderabad and one in Chennai, by the end of March 2010.” With this planned expansion, the company will foray in Chennai soon.

About the investment plan, he stated that the company proposed to invest around Rs 2 crore for this expansion.

The Bombay Store retails products including apparel, fashion accessories, personal care, home accessories, soft furnishings and stationary, and has the legacy of being the first retail company to be registered in the Bombay Stock Exchange.
