Madame opens UP’s 6th store in Lucknow

As part of company’s aggressive expansion plan to open 100 stores by the end of 2010 and to touch 200 store mark by 2012 across the country, Madame, a popular women’s western wear brand, has opened its Lucknow outlet recently. With the launch of Lucknow store, the company currently has 54 exclusive brand outlets in India including six stores in Uttar Pradesh in places like Barailey, Kanpur, Dehradun, Saharanpur, Noida and Lucknow.

Speaking on the launch, Bipan Jain, MD, Madame, said, “With the growing demand of our products, we decided to move inwards to cater to the burgeoning population. The opening of new stores one after the other will further help our objective.”

The plan further includes to open more Madame stores at high potential areas in UP and other parts of the country and will carry forward the store count to 200 by the end of 2012, which will be a mix of company-owned and franchised outlets, added Jain.

The company invests around Rs 40 lakh per store. Besides MBOs, madame has presence in over 600 multi brand outlets and other big format stores across the country including Lifestyle and Central.
