Speaking at the store launch in the national capital, K Venkataraman, MD, Mahindra Retail, said, “With the number of working mothers increasing, the concept of pregnancy and baby care has gone beyond the traditional idea. We plan to invest about Rs100 crore (Rs 1 billion) to set up the stores of about 5,000 to 10,000 square feet each, during the first phase of its expansion plan.”
The company will soon launch Delhi’s second store at Rajouri Garden in next 10 days and will venture into Mumbai and Bengaluru in the next few weeks, informed Venkataraman. Currently, the format is operational in Ludhiana, Ahmedabad and Pune.
