MBD Neopolis Ludhiana to open in second quarter FY10

Real estate developer MBD Group will be launching the 7.2 lakh mixed use project MBD Neopolis in Ludhiana by the second quarter of fiscal 2009-10, the company said in an exclusive statement issued to IndiaRetailing. Featuring a Gross Leasable Area of about four lakh square feet including the luxury arcade ‘Nuovo’, the development will also house a massive car park and a 5-star hotel by the name of Radisson Hotel MBD Ludhiana.

Anchors in the retail area include Marks & Spencer (occupying approximately 26,500 square feet), Home Town (approx 81,000 square feet) and Big Cinemas (approx. 49,000 square feet). Besides them, Ashish Chordia-promoted luxury fashion retailer ‘Thanks’, and Canali will dominate the luxury arcade ‘Nuovo’, which will be housed in the 5 star hotel within MBD Neopolis. The Thanks store will offer brands such as Dolce & Gabbana, Etro, Chole, Dior Homme, Pucci, Vivienne Westwood, Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior, Alberta Ferretti, Richard James, Diane Von Furstenberg, Ballantyne, Fendi and more.

Prominent vanilla retailers signed up include Kimaya, Ayamik, Porsche, S Oliver, Samsaara, Sarar, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, Titan, Sia, Levi’s, Provogue, Puma, Zodiac, Forest Essentials, Adidas and many more. The MBD Group is establishing its own Food Court brand under the name of ‘Gigabite’, which it says will “redefine the very concept of the Food Court as we know of it today”.

MBD has signed up long term leases with all anchors with CAM charges of Rs 18-20 per square feet per month.
