Mercedes-Benz India to enter used car segment

Must Read

To tap the growing market segment, luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz India plans to enter the used car business by the year-end, informed a top company official.

Addressing the media on the store launch in Kolkata, Debasish Mitra, head – marketing and sales, Mercedes-Benz India, said, “We are currently working on launching the used car programme in India. It will be launched by December 2009.”

“At present the used car segment is not organised in India. Dealers out of their own interest sell used Mercedes vehicles. We have globally started the business actively under a standard global used car programme and will implement the same in India also,” added Mitra.

The company, which has launched Mercedes-Benz luxury buses for intra-city services, is also planning to offer long-distance inter-city bus services.
