Nikon opens exclusive DSLR outlet in Delhi

Nikon India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan-based Nikon Corporation, has opened an exclusive outlet to retail Nikon DSLR cameras in the national capital. Further, the company plans to open similar outlets in other metros in India as well, according to a company press release.

Speaking to media on the store launch, Makoto Kimura, director, Nikon Corporation, Japan, said, “India is an important market for us and we are happy to announce that Nikon India hopes to surpass its targets set for 2010 in this year (2009) itself. This is a great motivator for us to enhance our commitment in terms of new product launches, distribution networks, product zones and service centers.”

“We recently opened our Kolkata office and plan to create our presence in southern India as well,” added Kimura.

Currently, Nikon has presence across India with 581 outlets and is expected to increase the number to 1,100 by 2009-end, added the release.
