Creative Portico to open 50 stores in ’09

With an aim to expand its retail network in India, Mumbai-based Creative Group’s bed and bath brand Creative Portico plans to expand to tier II cities. Further, the company plans to launch 10 exclusive outlets and 40 more franchised outlets by the end of 2009 across the country, according to a top company official.

Creative Portico product portfolio includes bed-sets, comforters, duvet covers, pillows, blankets, towels, shower curtain, bath-mat and much more.

Speaking to IndiaRetailing, Rajiv Merchant, CEO, Creative Portico said, “In the last five years we have got an overwhelming response from our customers. Even after the downturn, we are expecting a decent growth of 40 per cent. Now we head on to tier II cities covering the whole of north and south India region.”

The current retail network of Portico comprises of 150 shop-in-shops with distribution at leading stores including Shoppers Stop, Lifestyle, Home Stop, Evok, Spencer’s, Reliance Hyper and many others. Further, the company also supplies to leading hotels and other companies for gifting.

Recently, Creative Portico was awarded with the honor of the Most Admired Home Fashion Brand at Images Fashion Award 2009 held in Mumbai. Concluded Merchant, “We are happy to receive it and now we have a great responsibility to envision a consistent brand communication level by understanding our customer needs better.”
