Vision Express opens store in New Delhi

In sync with company’s aggressive expansion plan to open around 500 stores by 2015, eyewear retailer Vision Express, the JV between Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Retail and Dutch optical retailer Pearle Europe, has opened its eighth outlet in the capital. Spread across 761 square feet retail area, the newly launched store is located at Lajpath Nagar, South Delhi and retails all products under its portfolio, according to a company press release.

Speaking on the launch, Gijsbert Ackermans, head — marketing and operations, Vision Express, said, “We are looking for aggressive expansion across India and have at least 500 outlets by 2015. Besides metros, we want to expand through tier I and II markets and aim to be among the top few players in the Indian optical eyewear market by the end of 2011.”

Besides other facilities, the store offers services like quick delivery within one hour for spectacles with single vision standard lenses. Currently, the company is operational in Bengaluru, Mysore, Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi, added the release.
