Govt to open second Jan Aushadi store in Delhi

After the successful launch of generic drug store Jan Aushadhi at Civil Hospital in Amritsar in Punjab, the Central government will launch the second store of the public medical store chain at Shastri Bhawan in the national capital on February 2. The third store will be launched in Gurgaon on February 4, followed by the other launches in Mohali and Panchkula on February 11, according to department of pharmaceuticals officials.

Further, the project has received good response from several NGOs, public health groups and other organisations from across the country, informed the officials.

Generic drugs are medicines marketed without a brand name. However, they are identical to their branded counterpart in terms of dose, strength, route of administration, safety, efficacy and intended use.
