HUL to license Lakme and Lever Ayush brands to Lakme Lever

Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL), country’s leading FMCG and wellness product manufacturer, has decided to license two of its most popular brands Lakme and Lever Ayush to its subsidiary Lakme Lever Pvt Ltd. The board of directors of the company has approved the decision, according to a company press release.

As part of this development, Lakme Lever will evaluate options towards developing a uniquely different business model for opportunity with singularity of purpose and dedicated focus, adds the release.

HUL produces over 20 product categories including home and personal care and food and beverages and sells largely through a franchisee network of salons and therapy centres. With this development, HUL will not be directly involved in the services business of Lakme salons and Ayush therapy centres.
