In an endeavour to meet the rising consumer demand for camera products and accessories, Hyderabad-based photography store, IIIrdi Digital plans to invest Rs100 million to launch a first of its kind photography superstore by 2009. The pilot store will be launched in Hyderabad, with next to follow in Bengaluru by 2009-end, revealed a top company official.
Speaking to IndiaRetailing, Sajay Bajaj, managing director, IIIrdi Digital, said, “Usually digital camera stores have a limited stock but in our new super store concept, latest gadgets and complete range will be available with an ultra modern portrait studio for indoor and outdoor photography jobs and printing technology.”
Meanwhile, Bajaj also confirmed that IIIrdi Digital is in talks with companies regarding tie-ups for this superstore. However, he remained tightlipped to disclose the partners.
The group already has eight stores under the brand IIIrdi Digital across Andhra Pradesh. Out of the existing eight stores, five are exclusive outlets and the remaining three are shop-in-shops in Tirupathi, Nellore and Visakhapatnam, after the company formed a partnership with Aditya Birla retail stores. Further, IIIrdi Digital also plans to set up two more stores in Bhimavaram and Chittoor targeting a turnover of Rs 150 million by FY ’09-10.
