    Netezza to partner Shoppers Stop in data warehousing

    , one of India’s premier retail chains with over 250 apparels and accessories brands, has chosen the global data warehouse and analytic appliances major Corporation to avail a comprehensive sales data analytics. The development is a part of company’s plan to expand retail operations across India.

    As part of this deal, Netezza will develop an exclusive data warehouse for Shoppers Stop to provide a complete solution to manage latter’s loyalty card program that include managing sales data with ease and simplicity.

    Arun Gupta, customer care associate and group chief technology officer, Shoppers Stop, said, “We are committed to building world-class retail capabilities and a focus on business intelligence and analytics is a key component of that.”

    Earlier, Shoppers Stop used to manage its data through a Structured Query Language (SQL) server, which became inadequate to manage its growing data.
