Total income of Pantaloon Retail up by 52 per cent

Pantaloon Retail India Limited (PRIL), the flagship company of the Kishore Biyani-led Future group has reported a 52 per cent increase in the total income of the company in the financial year ended June 30, 2008.

The total income for the 2007-08 fiscal stands at Rs 5052.67 crore, as against Rs 3328.77 crore in the fiscal 2006-07.

According to an official press release, PRIL’s Profit Before Depreciation, Interest and Taxes (PBDIT) for the current fiscal has been increased to Rs 464.29 crore, which is an increase of 113 per cent (excluding extraordinary income) from the previous fiscal.

The annual net profit for this fiscal has also witnessed an increase of 111 per cent and is stood at Rs 125.97 crore (excluding extraordinary income). The company had posted a net profit of Rs 119.99 crore in FY 2006-07, which included an extraordinary income of profit from sale of investments of Rs 88.87 crore.

PRIL operates multiple retail formats in the value as well as lifestyle segment including Pantaloons (fashion outlets chain), Big Bazaar (hypermarket chain), Food Bazaar (supermarket chain), and Central (a chain of seamless destination malls).
