Haworth to retail Fritz Hansen portfolio in India

Haworth International, a US-based manufacturer and retailer of home décor and office improvement, has announced a tie-up with Denmark-based manufacturer Fritz Hansen to bring the latter’s collection to India.

As part of this strategic partnership, Haworth has opened a 5,000 square feet store in Gurgaon, which is the eighth store of the chain in India and will retail the entire portfolio of Fritz Hansen across the country.

Announcing this plan, Vyanna Reddiar, managing director, Haworth India Pvt Ltd, said, “With over 10 years of experience in providing high quality furniture products to customers, we have worked towards raising the standards of excellence in design and research in India. This tie-up is not only a union of creativity and inspiration that aims to push the boundaries of design in India, but also an opportunity to bring world-class design to Indian consumers.”

Elaborating the scope and business proposition of Haworth in India, he added, “The Indian furniture market is estimated at around USD 7,922 million, which is globally the second largest segment accounting for around 20 per cent of the total furniture market. The office furniture segment in India is growing rapidly and it is estimated that in the next three to five years, the demand for office space will grow at a compound annual growth rate of around 20 percent, which is a viable opportunity for our business.”

Frederik Moller, vice president – sales, Fritz Hansen, said, “We aim to carry our legendary designs across the globe to various people who share a love for high quality design and excellence. Haworth also shares the same passion for design as ours and this partnership will help in advancing the design industry in India to greater heights.”

At present, Haworth is operational in over 120 countries and manages 2 manufacturing facilities and 24 sales offices throughout Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America region.
