Trent to invest Rs 2,000 cr on Star Bazaar

Trent Ltd, the retailing arm of Tata group, has planned to invest around Rs 2,000 crore for opening around 50 Star Bazaar hypermarket stores over the next five years.

Speaking to media on the sidelines of the company’s annual general meeting (AGM), FK Kavarana, chairman, Trent Ltd, said, “We will invest around Rs 2,000 crore in the next five years for the rollout of 50 Star Bazaar hypermarkets; each outlet will be spread over approx. 50,000 square feet.”

According to Kavarana, the company also plans to launch larger formats of Star Bazaar stores, which will be more than 50,000 square feet in size, across the country.
