Select Citywalk conceptualising creative concepts

Must Read

Select Citywalk, the premier shopping mall of south Delhi, has marked out extensive plans to give more reasons for consumers to come visiting. Besides planning new brand openings, the company has lined up various conceptual initiatives that, it feels, will garner more sales in the mall.

In an attempt to educate and nourish the talents of its children customers, the company has launched a programme called Kidsclub. The club will encourage children to participate in activities including calligraphy, clay modeling, paper maché, storytelling, and dance and music.

Child actor Darsheel Safary has been signed in as the first member of the club.

Speaking to Indiaretailing about the project, Rajiv Duggal, CEO, Select Citywalk, said: “This is an edutainment concept, created for our discerning little guests. Our objective is to create an enjoyable environment for children visiting the mall.”

The company is also planning to invite real Disney characters including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy from Disneyland. “Real Disney characters are expected to be seen at Select Citywalk during the festive season. We are in talks with Disneyland,” said Duggal.

Flea by Nite

The mall management is coming up with a slew of conceptual activities to promote and encourage shoppers to visit the mall more frequently. Soon, a ‘flea market’ on every Wednesday will be introduced in the mall. Called ‘Flea by Nite’, the concept goes live from August 20. “Every Wednesday, we will have different people retailing items like books, auto parts and flowers,” said Duggal.

The country’s first ‘high street in a mall’ will also be seen at Select Citywalk.

“This is a first-of-its-kind concept in the country wherein consumers will have the varied choice that they enjoy at a high street. We have planned to house paanwalas, panipuriwalas, and pushcart eateries in our balcony to create a high-street experience here,” said Duggal.

Store Openings

Booster Juice, Ed Hardy, Lerros, Taylor Made Golf, and Mr Chi’s are expected to open their exclusive brand outlets in the mall within a couple of months.

“Metropolitan Museum of New York has already opened here. Booster Juice will be here by the first week of August, and will be followed by stores from Mr Chi’s, Ed Hardy and Lerros,” Duggal confirmed.
