MobileStore expanding operations

Mobile phones and accessories retail chain The MobileStore has planned to expand its presence by launching around 2,500 stores in the next two years. Currently operating in around 120 cities, the company plans to penetrate deeper into the market by covering 600 cities and towns.

Announcing plans, Rajiv Agarwal, CEO and director, The MobileStore, said: “We intend to be present wherever the consumer is. The plan is to have 2,500 stores across 600 cities and towns across the country in the next two years.”

He further informed that the company has identified cities and store locations across India based on current and potential telecom penetration and consumer need. Last month, the firm rolled out over 125 stores.

The company currently operates 750 stores across three formats ranging between 300 square feet and 1,500 square feet, along with shop-in-shop formats inside malls, hypermarkets and stores.
