Manipal Cure & Care, the retail arm of the education and healthcare major Manipal Group, has tied up with Laboratories Robert Schwartz, a French cosmetic and pharmaceutical company to market its products in India. The companies will also take up a research and development programme.
Somnath Das, chief operating officer, Manipal Cure & Care, said: “We will make the Robert Schwartz products available in malls and key shopping centres with targeted annual sales of more than Rs 500 crore.”
Manipal will initially market three ranges of cosmaceutical products of the company in India and nearby markets.
On the research and development front, Laboratories Robert Schwartz will bring its products for clinical trials in India, utilising the Manipal Group’s network of hospitals and infrastructure.
Robert Schwartz, president, Laboratories Robert Schwartz, said: “To begin with, we will work together for clinical trials in India. Later on, we may think of forming a joint venture for manufacturing.”
Manipal Cure & Care, by 2011, plans to open around 50 health and wellness centres in various cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Laboratories Robert Schwartz’s, the Paris-based company manufactures about 16 variants of cosmetics, dietary supplements and diet food.
