    Coca-Cola Golden Spoon Awards at Food Forum India

    To acknowledge the vision and the efforts of the food-and-beverage retailers in India, the ones who have significantly contributed to the industry’s growth, Coca-Cola India in association with Images Group will honour them through ‘Coca-Cola Awards 2008 – Images awards for excellence in food retailing’.

    The company also launched its Minute Maid Pulpy Mosambi beverage, produced with fruits locally sourced from Jalna in Maharashtra

    Presenting his views on the Indian food-and-beverages market,
    Sanjiv Gupta, director, commercial leadership, at Coca-Cola India, said, “Given a buoyant economy, increasing incomes and rapid urbanisation, the Indian consumer will seek variety and convenience while increasing his consumption of food-and-beverage. It presents a great opportunity for manufacturers and retailers alike to create value while overcoming supply-chain challenges in a country blessed with reasonable levels of food-and-beverage inputs.”

    The first-of-its-kind ‘Coca-Cola Golden Spoon Awards 2008’ have in reserve a Golden Spoon Award for the most admired names in the industry. The awards will be presented across the following categories:

    • Most Admired F&B Retailer of the Year: Indian Origin
    • Most Admired F&B Retailer of the Year: QSR Foreign Origin
    • Most Admired F&B Retailer of the Year: QSR Cafe & Bar
    • Most Admired F&B Retailer of the Year: Dine-in Indian Origin
    • Most Admired F&B Retailer of the Year: Dine-in Foreign Origin
    • Most Admired Food Retailer of the Year: Food & Grocery – Convenience/Express Format
    • Most Admired Food Retailer of the Year: Food & Grocery – Hypermarket/Supermarket
    • Most Admired Food Retail Professional of the Year
    • Most Admired Food Retailer of the Year: Regional Player
    • Most Admired Food Retailer of the Year: Innovative Concept
    • Most Admired Food Retailer of the Year: Dynamic Growth in Network Expansion
    • Most Admired Food Retailer of the Year: Private Label F&G Brand
    • Most Admired Food & Grocery Retail Visionary of the Year

    The awards are a part of Food Forum India, which is expected to be the country’s largest congregation of global and Indian food retailers, manufacturers, organisations and minds in the food-and-beverage businesses. Food Forum India as a concept was launched by , minister of food processing industries, Government of India, and is scheduled for May 6-7, 2008.
