India’s first shopping centres forum opens

To discuss challenges and evaluate opportunities in the business of shopping centres in India, the first India Shopping Centre Forum (ISCF) opens today in Mumbai.

The two-day event has been organised by Images Group in association with the Shopping Centres Association of India (SCAI), and claims to provide a platform to shopping centre developers, retailers, brands, consultants, and financial institutions to form prospective alliances and share ideas for betterment of the industry.

The forum will also host the India Shopping Centre Awards, wherein industry stalwarts and entrepreneurs will be awarded for outstanding performance and contributions to the shopping centre business.

The event will also witness the launch of Shopping Centre News, the Images Group publication that will strive to be a knowledge resource centre that collects, analyses and disseminates information on the Indian shopping centre industry in all its aspects of operation, and also build up a body of focused research into the architecture, aesthetic and design aspects of shopping centres.

The participants at the forum are renowned industry professionals including BS Nagesh of Shoppers’ Stop, Bijou Kurien of Reliance Retail, Chris LeTourneur of MXD Development Strategists, DPS Kohli of Koutons Retail, Harminder Sahni of Technopak, Abhishek Bansal of Pacific Malls, Ajay Khanna of DLF Retail Developers, Ajay Mehra of Fun Cinemas, Ashish Shukla of Bharti Retail, Atul Goel of E-City Entertainment, Avnish Singh of GE Real Estate, Dharmesh Jain of Nirmal Group, Harshavardhan Neotia of Ambuja Realty, Manish Kalani of EWDPL India, Nikhil Chaturvedi of Prozone, Phil McArthur of Ivanhoe Cambridge, Pranay Sinha of Select Infrastructure, and Ramanathan Hariharan of Landmark Group.
