“Koutons is a dynamic brand and is escalating at a rapid pace. My focus here will be to keep the brand integrated, and repeat the history that it made last year, in a bigger way. Be it more store openings, brand extensions, or other strategic expansions, we wish to do it better than what we have been doing,” Singh told Indiaretailing.
Asked if he has chalked out any particular strategy for the brand, Singh said: “Immediately, I will try to get a better understanding of the brand and the organisational structure, and will soon formulate strategies accordingly.”
Answering Indiaretailing’s query on more acquisitions after Upper Class, Singh said: “Though there is nothing on the cards as of now, if we see some good business opportunities in future, we shall not miss them.”
Indiaretailing had earlier reported about the apparel major acquiring a 51 per cent stake in Delhi-based womenswear brand Upper Class, and about the launch of Les Femme, a womenswear brand, and Koutons Junior for kids, under the Koutons umbrella.
