Orient Craft routing global apparel brands to India

Orient Craft, a New Delhi-based apparel export firm, is close to bring an international premium childrenwear brand to the Indian market next year. The company is also learnt to have been in advanced talks with a mass denim brand and an Italian luxury label for India operations. Recently, the company started its retail foray by launching stores of German premium fashion retailer S Oliver, in Mumbai and New Delhi.

When contacted, a spokesperson at Orient Craft said: “I have nothing to say about the brands with which we are in talks. However, we plan to have over 70 S Oliver stores operational across the country in the next four years’ time. By the same time, we expect 30 per cent of revenues to come from the domestic retail business.” The company plans to launch an S Oliver store in Bengaluru very soon.

Orient Craft, which has a Rs 745-crore export manufacturing business, supplies to international brands such as Gap, Marks & Spencer, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Diane Von Furstenberg and Marc Jacobs.

The 29-year-old export company is also learnt to be in the process of creating its own retail brand for the domestic market.
