RAMMS and JC Williams Group form JV

RAMMS, one of the leading end-to-end retail consultancy providers, has entered into a strategic alliance with JC Williams Group (JCWG), North America. The partnership firm is named RAMMS – JC Williams Group India.

The new company will bring together RAMMS’s knowledge and experience of working with Indian brands and retailers, and JWCG’s global know-how and techniques for better and profitable retail operations.

“The Indian retail market is witnessing a flurry of activities in the organised category, which have taken years to evolve in developed nations. We see large opportunity for the RAMMS – JC Williams alliance in assisting Indian retail companies and retail property developers,” said R Kannan, president, RAMMS India.

The spectrum of services offered by the new entity includes mall management, retail operations, merchandising and productivity, and retail training and development.

“RAMMS has a strong understanding of the growing needs of the Indian retail market, and hence the alliance. It is a well established and clued-up group whose capabilities and network will be of significant value to the joint venture. We have also been impressed with RAMMS’s track record in its ventures with other companies,” said John Williams, founder of JC Williams Group.

Operational from past two decades, Toronto-headquartered JC Williams provides services ranging from retail strategy, branding, and shopping centre productivity, to urban revitalization. JC Williams Group have worked throughout North America, the United States and Europe to forge singularly apt solutions for cities, shopping centres and retailers.

Wal-Mart, Sears, Aldo, Walgreen’s, Sobey’s, Ikea, Landsend, Atlantic Shopping Centers, Dubai Mall, Downtown LA, and Downtown Miami are some of the names in the company’s client list.

Started in 1991, as part of the MAA Group, RAMMS provides services that include retail design, execution of point-of-purchase and merchandising projects, franchise management, national signage programme, online retailing, human resources management and special events and promotions. The company’s clients include Procter & Gamble, Johnson & Johnson, Hindustan Lever, VIP, Frito Lay, Maruti, Symantec, Sony Ericsson, Intel, HP and Pepsi.
