KSID to host trade and tech biz show in Kochi

The Kerala State Industries Department (KSID) is organising a trade and technology business show in Kochi on September 27-29. Investment opportunities offered by the state in sectors such as food and agro-processing, ayurveda and herbal, coir, handlooms, handicraft, bamboo and rubber sectors will be on display.

When contacted, Kerala State Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem told Indiaretailing that the government hoped that the show would give a boost to small-scale industries in the state. He added that the show will have 113 stalls exhibiting products of small-scale industries.

The show is being organised in association with the Kerala Bureau of Industrial Promotion (K-IBP), Kerala State Industrial Development Corp. Ltd (KSIDC), and Kerala Infrastructure Development Corp. (KINFRA).

The show will have about 200 other stalls of machinery manufacturers, technology providers and research institutes. Out of the 200 stalls, 150 will be domestic and 50 will be international exhibitors.

“The business show will highlight the industrial agility and knowledge-based skill of the state to the international trading community,” the minister said.

The total cost of the show is estimated at Rs 1.25 crore, Industries and Commerce Director TO Sooraj told the media.
