Manzaro Global Ventures Ltd, the UK-based soluble coffee producer under the brand COFiCOFi, has announced its India arrival in Bangalore. Pune-based Sarsan Foods Private Limited holds the manufacturing and marketing license of COFiCOFi in the country. It will be available in major food and department stores in the coming week.

“COFiCOFi is a mass brand and we are sure that it will soon become the taste of India. It offers a three-in-one coffee mixture, which is a combination of coffee, creamer and sugar, in a sachet in seven flavours,” Prasad Joshi, CEO, Sarsan Foods Private Limited, told Indiaretailing. Currently, Manzaro is the only producer of 3-in-1 coffee mix with seven flavours in the world.

The company expects to market 240-300 million sachets of coffee-mix (20 gm of coffee mix per sachet) per annum in the country. And in value terms, Manzaro anticipates more than $12 million of annual turnover in India.

It is also learnt that Manzaro is seriously looking at establishing a ready-to-drink coffee-mix manufacturing plant in India. When enquired about this, Pranab Singha, CEO of Manzaro, said: “We are keenly watching the Indian market and setting up a plant depends upon the business outcome, but I am not declining your question and we may set up a manufacturing plant in the next two years time.” Initially, the coffee-mix marketed in India will be imported.

The company already has presence in 31 countries with a coffee manufacturing plant in Singapore, and it is in the process of establishing another plant in Ukraine. Manzaro has been procuring 400-450 tonnes of Arabica and Robusta coffee powder from Brazil and Vietnam for producing coffee-mix.
