RCG to launch 0 Press; eyes 100 Classic Polo stores

Royal Classic Group, producers of the Classic Polo branded men’s apparel, will introduce a new trouser brand christened 0 Press in this week. Targeted at young office goers, the brand will be retailed through Classic Polo exclusive stores and leading MBOs across the country.

“Unlike other brands, 0 Press will bring a wide range of trousers with unique longstanding wrinkle-free features for young executives. We expect a revenue to the tune of Rs 10 crore from 0 Press brand in this fiscal,” MS Vasant, head of retail business, Classic Polo, told Indiaretailing.com.

Priced in the range of Rs 1,000-2,000, the brand will be designed and manufactured in-house. The company has set up a separate manufacturing unit for 0 Press brand in Tirupur. “Initially, the plant will make 800 trousers per day and by July-end scale up to 1,600 trousers per day,” Vasant said. Union Textile Minister Shankersinh Vaghela will inaugurate the new plant on June 7.

The company has opened its seventh Classic Polo outlet in Bangalore, taking its total number of outlets to 38. It has earmarked a turnover of Rs 85 crore this fiscal from its apparel business alone. “Currently, we are retailed across 16 cities across South and one in Lucknow. We will soon enter more tier I, II and III cities across South by opening above 60 stores. Our target is to have 100 stores across South by the end of this fiscal,” Vasant added.

The group’s franchisee retail business model is a mix of studio (500-1,000 square feet) and lounge (1,000-2,000 square feet) formats, in addition to multi-brand outlets/shop-in-shops. The company-owned branded retail store is set on an area of 1,800 square feet.
